Milwaukee-based songwriter and performer Marielle Allschwang, whose debut album Dead Not Done has been called “aurally-enthralling and emotionally-arresting,” presents a new project, Precession of a Day: The World of Mary Nohl. This song cycle explores the life and work of artist Mary Nohl (1914–2001). Precession of a Day utilizes a variety of musicians and approaches as well as an immersive video environment composed from steady, uncut shots (filmed by Marielle Allschwang, Heather Hass, and Adam Krause) in and around Mary Nohl’s artist-built environment—her home on the shore of Lake Michigan.
